FingerCramp
FingerCramp  |  Art Director, Video Producer, Motion, Graphic & Brand Designer  |  2011-2013
Here's where it all started. Fresh outta college when no one would hire me, my buddy Hak decided to start a YouTube channel dedicated to fighting games and broader gaming content. Within the span of two years, I taught myself motion graphics and video production and cranked out 30-min weekly shows, video skits, livestreams, animations, reviews, guides and more.
Video Reel of Our Content
A rather long video reel of a tiny tiny fraction of the 250+ videos I created while working at FingerCramp. All the graphics, most of the editing and some of the filming were done by me.
Defend The North Trailer (Left) & Not Reviews: Street Fighter X Tekken(Right)
The Defend The North trailer was inspired by The Walking Dead and was a fun way to poke fun at the FGC tier list of games. The opening impromptu skit was shot and edited by me while the rest of the trailer was put together by Hak. The Street Fighter X Tekken review video featured a graphics package in which I filmed and rotoscoped my hands to create a homework-assignment aesthetic.
Training Montage (Left) & Void That Warranty: PS Vita (Right)
The FC Jago training montage was a promo video for Bar Fights 3, highlighting a friendly rivalry between FC Jago and Cross Counter's Mike Ross. Void That Warranty is a tech review series that utilized a more simple graphics package to allow Hak to put together reviews while I worked on our larger series of shows.
Why We Hate You Ep. 13 Promo (Left) & FGC Babies Guides (Right)
For Why We Hate You Ep. 13, FC Jago recounts his time at Bar Fights playing against the West Coast. With so many wild moments, I chose to animate his story as a Pokemon game, created entirely in After Effects. The FGC Babies Guides were a series of essential training videos to help new players into the Fighting Game Community. These were centered around the absolute basic concepts for fighting games that many guides overlook.
Jay-Go Cross Assault Audition Tape (Left) & FC Shore: Chris G Announcement (Right)
When the Cross Assault event was requesting auditions from players and community figures to appear on the show, we created a low budget video where FC Jago pretends to be Jay-Go, as a tongue-in-cheek way to highlight our working relationship with Capcom. When Chris G joined FingerCramp as a sponsored player, we recreated Jersey Shore to introduce Chris G to the house.
Max Payne 3 NYCC Preview (Left) & Famous Frauds Rhythm Tutorial (Right)
After our visit to New York Comic-Con, we recounted our experience at Rockstar's Max Payne 3's secret booth. The intro was stylized to mimic Max Payne's tone. To further fuel the rivalry between FC Jago and Mike Ross, we threw together a video of Mike Ross & The Combofiends, a nonsensical rhythm tutorial that highlighted Mike Ross's training with Combofiend.
FC-Span Ep. 9 (Left) & Pre Play: Syndicate (Right)
FC-Span was a weekly gaming news show modeled after ESPN's Pardon The Interruption. Pre Play was a let's play series that quickly showcased a game of the week. Together, these two pieces would be combined into The FingerCramp Show, which would air on Brooklyn Community Access Television to a small audience, as well as YouTube.
